Together, Ingrid and I are reading through the Bible again this year. We are using the Bible that belonged to Alice Mangle, my late wife’s mother. Alice went to be with the Lord this last June. She taught the Bible for over 70 years. She was teaching at age 91 and had started her prep for teaching the next Sunday when the Lord invited her home. The Bible is filled with her insight and application written in the margins of her Bible. For example, in the top right hand corner of this page she notes, “Greatest sign of a winner is forgiveness. Greatest sign of a loser is negative thinking. Greatest proof of faith is to do something.”

Awakening early to read God’s Word each morning is a blessing indeed. As the Psalmist said,
“When I awake I will see you face to face and be satisfied.”
Reading from Alice’s Bible makes it a double blessing as we are taught by her insights – but most importantly by the way she lived her life and loved her family. Her presence is felt every morning along with His.
An even greater blessing is that 103 people at First Baptist High Springs have joined us in reading the Bible through this year! They make it a triple blessing!
If you are reading the Bible through this year, let me know and we can begin to pray for one another and enjoy the journey together.
